Men's Boxer Briefs by Wardrobe By Me
Posted on
I've been busy making underwear for myself & thought it was about time I made something for my husband :-)
I chose Wardrobe By Me Men's Boxer Briefs pattern as they are a close match to the style he usually wears. I made them in organic cotton jersey & there are a range of lovely colours available on the Minerva website. Hubby usually wears a size large in ready to wear and following the pattern measurements the large I cut was a perfect fit. They are an easy & straightforward make on a regular sewing machine using a stretch stitch and finishing the edges with a zigzag stitch and an edging foot. There is a helpful video that shows the making process & it can be found on the Wardrobe by Me website with the pattern. The central back panel makes them more comfortable than a regular centre seam.
I found some plush waistband elastic (38mm) online which is lovely and soft, just like that on shop bought boxers. I'd recommend using plush elastic as I also received some standard waistband elastic but it is a bit too harsh to wear against the skin.
I only made one pair to start with but have them now lined up in small and medium for my 13 and 17 year old sons and some more for my husband. Sadly, my husband wouldn't model them for a photo shoot 😂
